Laurinburg Area Campaign to support SAU closing in on goal |
Laurinburg, NC - The Laurinburg Area Campaign to support St. Andrews University is now at 83 percent of the $500,000 goal. Campaign co-chairs Jim and Frances Willis are pleased with the $417,000 raised to date, but are also looking to exceed the goal thanks to the generosity of donors in the area. “The community has been so supportive of the University,” said Frances Willis. “It is such an easy sell when we ask people to donate and we are working hard to continue the tradition of fundraising success in the community.” The beneficial relationship goes both ways according to Jim, who grew up in Laurinburg. “We have long recognized and appreciated the value of St. Andrews to our community in many different ways,” he said. “It is certainly an economic driver, but it is also a resource for learning, art, sports and culture.” The annual Campaign has met or exceeded the goal since it was formally introduced 19 years ago. “The reason for the success of the Laurinburg Area Campaign for St. Andrews every year is the commitment of an extraordinary group of dedicated volunteers,” said Paul Baldasare, campus president. “We are so grateful for the leadership Jim and Frances will provide for this year’s volunteers as they work to make the campaign goal a reality.” To make a donation to the 2014 Laurinburg Area Campaign to Support St. Andrews University, go to the website at http://www.sa.edu and click give or call 910-277-5664. |
