Yellow Ribbon Program

Military Yellow Ribbon Program

The Yellow Ribbon Program is designed to help students avoid up to 100 percent of their out-of-pocket tuition and fees associated with education programs that may exceed the Post 9/11 GI Bill tuition benefit. The recently enacted GI Bill funds tuition expenses at the highest public in-state tuition rate.

By participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program, St. Andrews can provide qualified veterans tuition discounts. This allows veterans greater flexibility in choosing where to use their education benefits under the GI Bill.

Concurrent Admissions Program

The Concurrent Admissions Program (ConAP) is a partnership between the Army Recruiting Command, over 1,900 participating colleges and Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) to link new soldiers to college at the time of enlistment.

During the enlistment process, Army and Army Reserve Recruiters refer Future Soldiers to ConAP college, usually in their home area.

Nathan Dungan in Iraq

"As a former service member, what I like about St. Andrews is the sense of community that comes from a smaller campus. During my time in service (primarily during a deployment) I decided that I needed to do something to improve myself and my odds for future employment. With the incentives provided by the military, I knew that I needed to go to college. Coming from active duty/deployment can be hard to adapt to, and going into college can be an even bigger challenge.

"Most service members have learned to depend on the sense of community and trust they find in their military experience with their fellow soldiers. That is something that is typically missed when transitioning to civilian life. When I came to St. Andrews I found that this sense of community to be very strong. For a service member transitioning to college, St. Andrews would be an excellent institution to help further your education."
